Men in the makeup world have been very out of the spotlight, for there just wasn't enough opportunities for them to shine. However, today we have some of the top brands, such as covergirl, using men and non gender conforming artist as their spokesmodels. Artist such as Jeffree star, Bretman Rock, Manny MUA, and Patrick Starr have pushed male makeup artist into the spotlight through the new era of social media. Instagram and Youtube have soon became the hub of male makeup artist, such as @seductivecucumber. Men in makeup used to only viewed as queer or goth culture, but now even the youth are finding the glam normality behind the makeup world. Instagram is the most valuable tool of finding some of today's greatest makeup artist, and @seductivecucumber is one of the many great teen male makeup artist, running our timelines.

Everyone wears makeup for different reasons, some for glam, some for coverage, some to change their face completely, and some to add a little glow. Makeup is not mandatory, its for you and only you.One of the most common misconceptions with men in makeup is that they are not confident with themselves. This is quite the opposite. Infact, men in makeup are so confident they let their inner selves show through color, highlight, and gloss. Ditch the concept that if you wear makeup you hate the way you look, because if it makes you happy then thats all that matters.
