OPENING NOTE
Many of you may be wondering "what is ice vice?" "Who is behind this?" "what is the purpose of this?". Well, I am Maxwell Vice, creator and director of this magazine. My name was given to my in respect to my dad, who is a graffiti artist that goes by Vice, so it only felt fitting to name my magazine after him. I am a performer, artist, and designer, and i made this magazine for other young artist, like me, to have a platform to display their work. As for the magazine as a whole, it is undefined. This magazine is a collection of Ice Vice originals, which are things I've created by myself or with the help of collaborators, as well as a collection of work from amazing artist I've found on instagram, soundcloud, and tumblr.
What is the purpose of this magazine? Well...young artist are viewed as kids with a hobby, or kids with a dream, we are not seen as the professional, dedicated, and innovative artist that we truly are. I made this magazine to promote those youth who are constantly producing their own art, from songs to photography to paintings to modeling, each one of these amazing young humans featured in this magazine were carefully selected due to their persistence, and fearlessness. I created this magazine so it could be partially submission based. Young artist from around the world sent me their work, and i simply displayed it in the most flattering way.
Everyone in this magazine, are the new faces of tomorrow.
I want to thank all of my friends who helped me so far with this launch especially the following people:
Noeyla, CeCe, Margarita, Leart, for being the first people i ever collaborated with, and all of the students from my school that lent me their advice in the middle of class.
I also want to thank all of the OUTSTANDING artist that allowed me to have their work in my magazine, it means a lot for you to be apart of something that has grown to be so much bigger then i ever anticipated.
Additionally i want to thank everyone that doubted me...
